An "Ukeki" is shallow triangular profile body enabling ease of dovetail joint cutting. Nomi simply means Chisel

Umeki Nomi = Dovetail Chisel

Kamaji Iron is wrought iron which has been hand profiled to form an elegant tree bark design. This Kamaji iron is formed with a very hard white paper steel cutting edge.

Dependent of the nomi width there may be single hollow ground backs or San Mai (multi hollow).

Never forget, the steel ring will need to be fitted to your requirements and although sharp, they are un-sharpened.
